Osun APC lacks sound economic ideas – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has said the ruling All
Progressives Congress in Osun State is bereft of sound
economic ideas required to move the state out of the
fincacial crisis.

The PDP chairman in Osun State, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa, said
this in a statement made available to our correspondent in
Osogbo on Monday.

The party issued the statement to react to the allegation
leveled against Senator Iyiola Omisore, who the ruling party
accused of being behind the planned summit being
organised by a group known as the Osun Stakeholders.

Some of the conveners of the planned summit, Mr. Yinka
Odumakin, and a former Attorney General of Osun State,
Mr. Niyi Owolade had announced on Friday that the summit
would hold next Thursday.

The Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the APC
in the state, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, had accused Omisore of
planning to use the summit to cause mayhem with a view
of destabilising the state.

However, Olaoluwa said it was sad that the ruling party had
no idea of solving the problems confronting the state and
was wrongly accusing the opposition party who knew
nothing about about the summit.

The PDP statement read, ” It is unfortunate that the APC
can be raising a false alarm and accusing the PDP wrongly
after it demonstrated that it is bereft of ideas on how to
lead Osun State out of the economic woes it brought the
state to.

“Those in the APC should bury their heads in shame
because their government has grounded all sectors in Osun
State. The state has never had it so bad since its creation.
“We in the PDP urge the organisers of the summit to come
out with solutions that can take the state out of its present
crippling state.”

Meanwhile, another group known as the Committee for
Issue Based Politics and Good Governance, has called on
the security agencies in the state to forestall the possible
breakdown of law and order by members of the PDP who it
alleged was planning to unleash mayhem on the state.

The Coordinator of the group, Mr Olanrewaju Afolayanka,
said this in a statement made available to our
correspondent on Monday.

Afolayanka questioned the credibility of Odumakin who he
alleged had a romance with the PDP after being ‘ejected
from Bola Tinubu’s empire.’ He also accused Owolade of
being used by Omisore.

He said, ” The idea that could not get Owolade, 500 votes
during the last governorship election, and the unacceptable
excess of the Odumakin that made Tinubu to dissociate
with him, is not welcome in the state.

The so called stakeholders should publish their names and
allow the general public to assess their personality,
genuineness and credibility.

He submitted that the proposed summit was a conceived
idea to assemble undemocratic forces to create tension in
the state and rubbish Aregbesola’s achievements for cheap
political gain.
