Ngozi-Okonjo Iweala, Folorunsho Alakija Named Among Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women In The World.

Forbes has released its annual list of the 100 most powerful women in the world.

The number one on the list is German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is a backbone of both German politics and the European Union.

The list, which is in its 10th year, features some names which have been consistent over the years like Oprah Winfrey, Hilary Clinton and Queen Elizabeth II.

4 African women make the list, including Malawi president Joyce Banda at number 40, Nigeria¡¯s minister for finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at 44, Liberian president Ellen Sirleaf-Johnson at 70, while Africa¡¯s first female self-made billionaire, Folorunsho Alakija is at 96.
